The Prestige NY team will be participating in the Lupus Alliance of Long Island/Queens 22nd Annual Walk-Along for Lupus on Sunday, October 18. This event is to raise awareness for Lupus, a life-threatening autoimmune disease.

The Prestige NY team will join over 2500 other people at the walk, which takes place in Eisenhower Park, Field #6 in East Meadow, New York. Others contributing in this event include WBAB, News 12, Freeport High School’s marching band, and the Bethpage Federal Credit Union. “It’s a great event,” shared Jessica. “The day is family-oriented and includes breakfast, lunch, face painting, live music, giveaways and much more.”

To help raise money, the Prestige NY team has established its own fundraising page at http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/prestigeny/22nd-annual-walk-along-for-lupus. “We’re looking to raise as much money for this worthy cause as possible,” noted Jessica.
The charity is still open to sponsorships and teams from local businesses. “I hope they have a fabulous turnout,” she added. “There are some nice prizes too for those who raise the most money. There are lunches, gift cards, t-shirts, and more.”
Jessica stated that the Lupus Alliance of Long Island/Queens (LALIQ) supports individuals living in Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens who suffer from lupus. This is a chronic, life-threatening disease that has no cure. “Every dollar raised at the walk helps to serve the Long Island/Queens population that is affected by lupus,” she said. “This organization has been a mainstay for the community since 1955.”
